# Credits and pricing

> What developer calls cost, your free credits and buying more

Calls from the developer portal's API keys and MCP server use **developer credits**. They're separate
from a Firmable subscription's app credits: one never spends the other.

## Free credits

* **100 credits when you sign up** (worth US\$25). Only the first sign-up from each company gets them.
* **40 credits on the 1st of every month** (Sydney time). Monthly credits don't roll over: any left
  at the end of the month expire. Credits you buy never expire.

## What uses credits

You pay **1 credit per company or person profile, once**. After your organisation has paid for a
profile, everything else about it is free: fetching it again, revealing emails or phone numbers,
or downloading it. Revealing both the email and phone of one person costs 1 credit in total, not 2.

Bulk calls run in batches of 100. If a batch fails, for example because you run out of credits,
the batches before it are kept and charged.

## Check your balance

Open **Usage** in the [developer portal](https://app.firmable.com/developer) to see your available
credits, what they were spent on, and your purchase history with invoices.

## Buy more credits

**1. Open Buy credits**

Select your credit balance at the top of the portal, or open **Usage**, then **Buy credits**.

**2. Choose how many**

Enter the number of credits. The price per credit and the total are shown before you pay, and
larger purchases get a volume discount.

**3. Pay**

Select **Continue to payment** and pay by card. Your credits are added a few seconds after the
payment goes through, and the invoice appears under **Usage**.
